This session began with an examination of the social vision for
Israel as first laid out by David Ben Gurion and then compared it
with what Israeli society looks like today. Dr. Lazin examined many
identity forces, with special emphasis on the role of religion,
religious political parties, and the quest for religious
pluralism.
